“Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed." Proverbs 19:17
Acts of kindness and generosity towards the poor are not only moral obligations but also spiritual investments.
Tony Lian, a 75-year-old Malaysian retiree, founded Food4U, an NGO dedicated to uplifting the homeless and poor in Kuala Lumpur. Every Friday, Food4U distributes 400 to 500 food packs to the hungry, and on Saturdays, it extends its reach by providing groceries to underprivileged households. The organization also stands as a pillar of support for disabled individuals and the blind community, who were particularly impacted by the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. His steadfast faith in the Lord’s promise of reward for acts of kindness fuels his unwavering dedication to serving others. His life and work beautifully embody the spiritual and eternal significance of generosity, reminding us of the profound importance of extending kindness to those in need and trusting in the Lord’s promise to repay every good deed.
Proverbs 19:17 encourages believers to act with generosity and love, promising that such good works will have lasting, rewarding effects in our lives and the lives of those we serve.

“Always give without remembering and always receive without forgetting.”
