“Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3‬:‭12‬ ‭

Christian journey is a life of continual growth, perseverance, and pursuit of Christlikeness.

Robert Pierce was an American evangelist, missionary, and the founder of World Vision, an international relief organization, with over 34,000 staff members working across nearly 100 countries. He dedicated his life to serving God and helping those in need, particularly in impoverished and war-torn regions. Despite his significant achievements, he remained humble, acknowledging his own limitations and relying on Christ’s strength. His willingness to endure hardship for the sake of others demonstrated his commitment to "take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me." He was called home on 6 Sept 1978 at age 63. His life was a testament to pressing on toward the goal of bringing hope, healing, and the message of Christ to the world.

Philippians 3:12 conveys a message of humility, determination, and purpose in the Christian journey. It encourages believers to remain steadfast in their faith, and actively pursue the purpose for which Christ has called them. It calls us to live our lives with intentionality, always striving to grow closer to Christ and fulfill His purposes.

“Christlikeness is a journey not a destination.”
